By Metrorail
Get off at Government Center Station, walk
south across NW 1st Street and go up the stairs
on the north side of the Cultural Center,
or use the ramp on the south side. The entrance
is on the plaza.
By Car, northbound
If traveling north on I-95, take the NW 2nd
Street exit (Exit 4). Turn right onto NW 2nd
Street, and then right on NW 2nd Avenue for
one block. The Cultural Center is on the left
and the Miami-Dade Cultural Center parking
garage is on the right.
By Car, southbound
If traveling south on I-95, exit at Orange Bowl/NW
8th Street (Exit 5A). Turn left onto NW 2nd
Street, and then turn right onto NW 2nd Avenue.
The Cultural Center is on the left, and its
parking garage on the right.
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Third Thursdays: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday: noon - 5 p.m. Closed
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Description and Activities:
The Historical Museum of Southern Florida
is centrally located in downtown Miami, at the
Metro-Dade Cultural Center Plaza, 101 West Flagler
Street. The plaza resembles a Spanish fortress
and covers an entire city block. The plaza includes
the Historical Museum, Miami-Dade Public Library
System Main Library, and the Miami Art Museum.
